ECO - FRIENDLY BATTERY

Swedish researchers have made a flexible battery using cellulose and salt. The lightweight, rechargeable battery uses thin pieces of paper for electrodes and a salt solution which acts as the electrolyte. The new batteries would be cheap, easy to manufacture and environmentally benign. They could be used to power cheap medical diagnostic devices or sensors on packaging materials or embedded into fabric.

Thin-film batteries have a long shelf life and can be charged and discharged tens of thousands of times.Since they done need advanced equipment to make them, they could be produced in developing countries.
