NEW PRODUCT AND INVENTIONS

Envion had developed a plant that will convert 6,000 tons of plastic waste into nearly a million barrels of "something resembling oil" per year. Cost of converting the plastic is about $10 per barrel.Bales of plastic garbage containing beverage cups, margarine containers and everything else people put into their recycle bins, are delivered each week to be converted into "oil." Each ton of waste will produce 3 to 5 barrels of product.

The finished product looks like a slightly murky lemonade and smells somewhere between gasoline and diesel fuel. One company has already agreed to buy the material for blending into motor fuel, others are in discussion. Envion would like to license its technology for use around the world.
